“1^st generation” resident identity cards are prohibited for use effective 1^st January 2013, in accordance with the regulations in Resident Identity Card Law of the People’s Republic of China amended in 2011. SPFMC demanded that the “2^nd generation” resident identity card must be provided for HPF services of the municipality and “1^st generation” resident identity card prohibited for use from 1^st January 2013.
